Congratulations go out to Raban Kent Bartley and all the members of Hillbilly Clan 1 Outhouse 2 in Pikeville Kentucky. With their donation this year, the Outhouse has surpassed the 2,000,000 dollar mark in total donations to the Shriners Hospitals for Children and the Transportation Funds at the El Hasa Shrine Temple and their associated Shrine Clubs. This years donation of 90,300 dollars brings their grand total to 2,012,146 dollars.
Established in 1970, Hillbilly Clan 1 Outhouse 2 has always had a big presence in the Pikeville area. In 1977, members of Outhouse 2 started a small festival and named it “Hillbilly Days”. That small festival continued to grow each year and is now the second largest annual event in the state of Kentucky. The Kentucky Derby is the largest. The festival has not only raised a tremendous amount of money for the children of Shriners Hospitals but has made Pikeville Kentucky famous as the “Hillbilly Capital of the World”.
